غابوا

يا موتُ غيّبتَ الذينَ نُحبُّهم

O Death, you have taken our love ones

وقطفتهم كالوردِ بعدَ نَماءِ

You have picked them like a ripened rose

حلَّ الظلامُ على الحياةِ بفقدِهم

With their loss, Darkness crept into our lives

وكأنما الدنيا بلا أضواءِ

As if the world was lightless

علمتنا أن الحياةَ قصيرةٌ

Death has , taught us that life is short

وبأننا نحيا بدارِ فَناءِ

And that life is vain

قد خَلَّفوا من بعدما قد غادروا

They left after they had gone,

ذكراهمُ كالعطرِ في الأرجاءِ

A reminiscence like scent, everywhere

يا موتُ قد أحزنتَنا لكننا

O death, you have grieved us, yet

نلقى قضاءَ إلهِنا برضاءِ

We accept Allah's will with trust

غابوا ولكنَّ القلوبَ تراهمُ

They are gone, yet with our hearts we see them

ووصالهم باقٍ بكلِّ دعاءِ

With us, all around, with every prayer

إنا لنرجو اللهَ غُفرانًا لهم

We ask Allah to bless them with forgiveness

وشفاعةً من سيّدِ الشُّفعاءِ

And wish them intercession of the master of intercessors (Peace be upon Him)

وبأن يكونَ مآلُنا ولقاؤُنا

And that destiny brings us together

بعد الفراقِ بجنةِ السُّعَداءِ

After parting, in eternal happy Heaven
